The glass for Glencairn whiskey tasting, officially recognized by the Scottish distillers. Champagne, brandy, wine ... everyone has his glass. Yet whiskey, the world's most complex spirit can be found served in anything from Hiball glasses and in Paris in glasses. In 2001 Glencairn has solved the problem of identifying the ideal glass for whiskey. The glass of the Glencairn is the solution to all problems tasting whiskey young or aged. Designed by Raymond Davidson nearly 25 years before being put into production, its development has involved pulling together the master blenders of the five largest whiskey company and asking them to perfect his initial project. The result was The Glencairn Glass, a glass for whiskey ... finally. Designed to help educate the consumer and promote the average whiskey drinker to enhance the experience of both young and aged whiskey tasting, it concentrates the aromas and has a great relationship for the oxidation of whiskey. The time and effort put into this development was rewarded in 2006, when the Glencairn Glasses won the Queen's Award for Innovation. The project was awarded the Queens Award for Innovation and went on to receive numerous marketing awards. Today, the glass can be found in use by each distillery in the UK and Ireland and many others around the world, from the USA to artisan distillers Far East brands like Kavalan.
