The Glencairn Canadian whiskey tasting glass, officially recognized by Scottish and Canadian distillers.
The wide opening of the Glencairn Canadian whiskey glass allows you to taste the best Canadian whiskeys or American Bourbon on the rocks, with ice. Champagne, grappa, wine ... everyone has his glass. Yet whiskey, the world of the most complex spirit can be found served in anything from highball glasses to Paris in chalices. In 2001 Glencairn solved the problem of identifying the ideal glass for whiskey and canadian whiskey. Glencairn's glass is the solution to all the problems of tasting young or aged whiskey. Designed by Raymond Davidson nearly 25 years before being put into production, its development involved pulling together the master blenders of the five largest whiskey companies and asking them to refine their initial design. The result was The Glass Glencairn, a glass for whiskey ... finally. Designed to help educate the consumer and encourage the average whiskey drinker to enhance the experience of whiskey tasting both young and old, concentrates perfumes and has an excellent ratio for the oxidation of whiskey. This particular Glencair whiskey glass has a larger size which allows you to taste whiskey with added ice. The particular shape concentrates the perfumes and, holding the ice, allows to drink only the whiskey. Today the glass can be found in use by every distillery in Canada, the United Kingdom and Ireland and many others around the world, from the artisan distillers of the USA to Far East brands such as Kavalan.
