The Whiskey Glenlivet 18 Years reserve is a single malt from Speyside aged in mixed oak barrels, ex-bourbon and mostly ex-sherry, capable of giving the distillate an unmistakable sweet and fruity spice.
The Glenlivet Single Malt 18 years is a whiskey that is made by the Glenlivet distillery starting from a barley malt in which the raw material is directly selected from the cultivation of Banffshire.
The water used comes from Josie's Well stream and the entire work process is divided between 14 stills, 7 used for the first distillation and 7 dedicated to the second.
Once the production process is completed, during which peat is never used, the 18-year-old Glenlivet whiskey is left to rest for 18 years in oak barrels that once contained bourbon or sherry.
Of great elegance and aromatic finesse, Glelivet's Whiskey Single Malt 18 years stands out among all the Speyside scots for the intense hints of flowers, exotic fruit and custard and for a soft and delicate taste, full and full-bodied, refined for 18 years in Bourbon and Sherry barrels
It smells of citrus, fruit, candied fruit, butter and vanilla. The sip is soft, warm, long and spicy.
This special product with eighteen years of aging in 2009 was awarded two gold medals at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
Color: recalls the tone of ancient, dark gold.
Aromas: On the nose, Glenlivet 18 Years whiskey has an elegant olfactory complexity that recalls the sweet notes of wood in antique shops.
An initial fragrance of oak wood is followed by intoxicating floral scents of freesia and peony with hints of caramel, mint and chocolate.
Flavors: Smooth and velvety on the palate, with tempting notes of spices and dried bitter oranges.
The finish is woody, characterized by hints of ginger and smoky notes.
Excellent whiskey, it will amaze you and it costs very little !!
