Worthy Park Estate is an estate dating back to 1670, in the heart of Jamaica, in the parish of St. Catherine, sixty kilometers north of Kingston.
Managed by only three families in 340 years, since the foundation produced rum, therefore it is considered the oldest distillery in the world still operational.
Worthy Park Estate is a distillery-based sugar mill that produces pure Jamaican style rumors: the proprietary molasses are subjected to two types of fermentation, Light and Heavy depending on the yeasts used, bred in oak vats.
The distillation of the Worthy Park rum takes place only in a Privat double-edged Retort-style Pot Still so it is a Pure Single Rum.
For the 70th Anniversary, Gordon Clarke, a member of the distillery's 99-year-old family, has created a higher-grade version of their new rum range that will be on the market in 2018.
The Worthy Park Single Summer Reserve 70th Velier, an intense and very powerful rum.
A world premiere!
The Worthy Park Single Summer Reserve, is aged for 6 -10 years in American oak barrels previously used for bourbon.
This prolonged aging under the Jamaica sun generates a loss of rum by evaporation of more than 71%.
The Worthy Park Single Summer Reserve 70th Velier release has a complex, powerful and deep aromatic profile that reminds one single malt whiskey.
Color: Amber with golden reflections.
Aroma: Very complex, with notes of spices, dried fruit, licorice and caramel.
Taste: Powerful, of great depth.
For consumption it is suggested to drink it only or with two drops of water meditating.
We recommend combining the Rum Worthy Park Single Summer Reserve 70th Velier with a good cigar Partagas P2 or Partagas 898.
