The distillery, originally called Aberlour Glenlivet, was founded in 1879 by James Fleming, a great connoisseur of local distilleries, having supplied it with barley for a long time.
The 12-year-old Aberlour is an excellent expression of the typical Speyside distillates.
As per the tradition of the distillery, this distillate matured in ex-bourbon and ex-sherry barrels acquiring the full soft characteristics of sherry.
Aberlour 12 years is considered one of the most intriguing whiskeys of the Aberlour Glenlivet Distillery.
Aberlour 12 years matures in ex-bourbon barrels and in small ex-sherry casks.
This type of aging gives this single malt intense fruity and spicy aromas.
Color: Deep amber
Aroma: Aberlour 12 years is rich in aromas, with dry floral notes balanced by sweet aromas of raisins.
Taste: full and round on the palate. The sweet and spicy floral notes are combined with the aromas of plums, cherries and vanilla.
Finale: Long, warm and spicy with hints of nutmeg and pepper.
We recommend combining it with a Lusitania or a partagas 898. For fans of slow smoking we recommend pairing Aberlour 12 years with a Brebbia Mix n ° 22 Quartetto.
