Finally we are here the first release of the heavily peated whiskey Bruichladdich Port Charlotte 10 years.
A novelty from the creators of Octomore, a new highly peated whiskey delicious!
Bruichladdich Port Charlotte 10 years single malt was created by the master distiller Jim McEwan to show the character and elegant style of Bruichladdich.
And he has succeeded completely, so much so that one cannot understand the value and quality of the Bruichladdich peaty whiskeys if one has not tried the single malt Port Charlotte 10 years.
A single malt distilled in 2009 and aged for ten years in a mix of barrels: 65% first-fill barrels that previously contained American whiskey, 10% American whiskey refill and 25% French wine refill barrels.
This mix of barrels used for aging softens, and well structure the Bruichladdich Port Charlotte 10 years that despite a gradation of 50 degrees and a pee of 40 ppm conquers the first sip.
This single malt was produced exclusively with barley of the Optic and Oxibridge varieties from the island of Islay.
This single malt from the island of Islay is well suited for a sip, a relaxing and meditative evening dram.
Equipped with an elegant black tube is a gift always appreciated and being the first release is much sought after by collectors.
Color: Intense gold.
Aroma: On the nose we are greeted by enveloping notes of marine peat, salted caramel, lemons and ginger with hints of seaweed, pineapple and dry grass.
Taste: The palate is full-bodied, oily and fairly balanced, the notes of marine peat blend with citrus fruits, custard and coconut with hints of salt sand, licorice and pepper.
Finale: Long and dry, spicy notes, ginger, vanilla, toasted bread and of course the inevitable marine peat smoke.
For a pairing with Bruichladdich Port Charlotte 10 years we recommend the floral and intense Drew Estate Undercrown Flying pig.
